Welding Technology

Prepare students to transition to Santa Ana College's Welding Technology Program or to obtain entry-level employment. Introduced to shop safety, proper use of tools and the basic equipment, and basic fundamentals through the introduction of various welding processes currently used in the welding and metal fabrication industry. Processes include Oxy-fuel cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).

To obtain this certificate, take THREE (3) courses: Introduction to Welding; Math for College and Career Readiness; and Introduction to Customer Service Skills or Employability Skills or English for Work 2.

Certificate meets the SAC Career Education standard of providing programs for students with the skills necessary to enter the workforce upon completion.
