Earners have completed the Community-Engaged Learning Professional Development Course. Earners have gained knowledge about high-impact practices as well as community-engaged learning theory and research. Earners have learned about the SLCC college-wide civic literacy student learning outcome and documented ways to incorporate it or revise it in courses. Participants have identified community partners and created assignments that build civic literacy and have developed methods of assessment.

The earner completed all modules in the Service-Learning Professional Development Series. The course consists of online modules The modules contain readings, discussions and assignments focused on high-impact practices, service-learning theory and research, effective community partnerships, civic literacy, assessment, and critical reflection. The participant must complete at least 80% of the course to receive credit.
