This credential represents the successful completion of a self-paced Writing Across the College Canvas course that provides participants with an introduction to linguistic bias and how Standardized American English impacts students at SLCC. Upon completion, participants will understand the complexity of the debate regarding language varieties in education and know how to affirm students' English language varieties that they bring to college.

Earning Criteria

To earn this credential, a participant will successfully complete the TTLJ self-paced Canvas course: ten modules that include video presentations and reflective responses. Additionally, participants engage in a half-hour informal conversation with the WAC director or a learning community discussion. The participant will identify at least three strategies they will implement in their courses to support writing success for all students.
