The 6σ Green Belt Training consists of a one week session during which participants attend instructor led modules in person. Participants are trained on topics as project charters, stakeholder analysis, DMAIC structure, Measurement System Analysis, basic statistics, CTQ tree, business cases, SIPOC, 5xWHY, Ishikawa, process capability, hypothesis testing, etc. The Body of Knowledge which forms the training curriculum represents the highest standard in process industry.

Participants will need to actively participate in and complete the one-week 6σ Green Belt Training of Smurfit Westrock's Business Excellence Academy. The participants must have commitment from their manager for them to participate in the training and to spend time on completing their DMAIC project.

The participants need to complete a DMAIC project such that the goal is met or exceeded, in agreement with the project stakeholders during project milestone reviews. Typical time to spend on the certification project is 3-5 hours/week, for a period of 6 months. To strengthen the learning process, and to ensure maximum chance of success of the certification project, participants need to join coaching sessions by an experienced Black Belt or Master Black Belt for the full duration of the project.

To verify if participants have well understood the DMAIC method and the tools, they will need to pass the Green Belt Examination.
