Students gain an understanding of the general concepts and practical applications of nutrition. Students will learn how to integrate the scientific principles of nutrition and how foods provide important nutrients that provide substance and energy for healthy living. Students will explore disease management and will gain knowledge on nutrients and nutritional processes. This course also explores nutrition information including food labels, advertising, and nationally established guidelines.
