Earners are able to list and differentiate the four key communication needs. The course explores the basic principles of interpersonal communication and defines communication competence. Earners demonstrate understanding of the purposes of interpersonal communication and can explain the key components of interpersonal communication. The curriculum defines the different models of communication.

Earners of the digital badge complete an asynchronous online course, which includes quizzes covering a combination of basic communication principles. A minimum score of 80% on the written quizzes is required to earn the digital badge.
