Public Speaking
The Public Speaking credential is awarded to earners who successfully complete modules in audience analysis, ethics and public speaking, informative speeches, introductions and conclusions in public speaking, listening in public speaking, persuasive speeches, speaking with confidence, special occasion speeches, speech delivery, and supporting your ideas in public speaking. This credential may offer a pathway to 3 credit hours, upon acceptance and enrollment at SIUE.

Earning Criteria

Earners of the digital badge complete an asynchronous online course where they critique/analyze speeches and deliver informative, persuasive, and special occasion speeches. They also complete assigned reading material and watch informational videos in pertaining to public speaking.

Earners must take a midterm and final assessment, where a score of 80% or higher is required for both assessments to earn the digital badge.

Upon acceptance and enrollment at SIUE, this credential may provide a pathway to 3 credit hours for ACS 101 Public Speaking for earners who can: (1) demonstrate the equivalent of three years of full-time work or volunteer experience where public speaking was a key component of the role at the time of credential completion, and (2) demonstrate ability to apply Public Speaking principles to lived experiences.
