Public Speaking
The Public Speaking credential is awarded to earners who successfully complete modules in audience analysis, ethics and public speaking, informative speeches, introductions and conclusions in public speaking, listening in public speaking, persuasive speeches, speaking with confidence, special occasion speeches, speech delivery, and supporting your ideas in public speaking. This credential offers a pathway to 3 credit hours, upon acceptance and enrollment at SIUE.

Earning Criteria

Earners complete quizzes and assignments. They read material, watch informational videos, and critique/analyze speeches. They take midterm assessment and a final assessment and deliver informative, persuasive, and special occasion speeches. Assessments require an 80% or higher score. Credit seekers must submit resume demonstrating three years full time work/volunteer experience where public speaking was a component and a reflection identifying application of 2-3 components of public speaking.
