Public Speaking

The Public Speaking credential is awarded to earners who successfully complete modules in audience analysis, ethics and public speaking, informative speeches, introductions and conclusions in public speaking, listening in public speaking, persuasive speeches, speaking with confidence, special occasion speeches, speech delivery, and supporting your ideas in public speaking. This credential offers a pathway to 3 credit hours, upon acceptance and enrollment at SIUE.

Earning Criteria

Earners complete a series of quizzes and assignments. They read textbook material, watch informational videos, and critique and analyze speeches. They take a midterm assessment and a final assessment. Finally, they deliver informative, persuasive, and special occasion speeches. All assessments require an 80% or higher total score.
