Within PHARM-5802, Current Topics in Pharmacy Administration, students will have the option to become trained Lifestyle Coaches for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP). This training will include detailed information on program structure, goals, curriculum, roles and skills of the Lifestyle Coach, program recognition standards, billing and reimbursement structures, and implementation strategies for sustainable program delivery.

Earning Criteria

In PHARM-5802, students will complete training led by a Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) Master Trainer Select. The training will be worth one credit hour and students will be required to be present for all 16 hours.

At the end of training, students must have a successful delivery of a 10 minute presentation, utilizing the Lifestyle Coach Skills that learned in the training.
