Earning Criteria

• Badge earners will be able to: Discuss the nature and benefits of international virtual exchange for faculty members and their students.  Collaborate with an international peer to develop a course that embeds a virtual exchange in a pedagogically sound way.

• Badge earners will be able to: Create learning objectives—tied to both activities and student projects/deliverables—that measure both cross-cultural learning and engagement with the course’s “usual” discipline-based outcomes. 
• Badge earners will be able to: Ensure that learning objectives build sequentially, through scaffolding, and that they encourage higher-level skills, using Bloom’s taxonomy to conceptualize appropriate outcomes.  
• Badge earners will be able to: Collaborate across cultural and logistical differences, including languages, time zones, differences in academic disciplines and pedagogical approaches, and technological challenges.  
• Badge earners will be able to: Use technology to join students in synchronous and asynchronous modes across countries, by way of ensuring that they can meet course outcomes and engage in informal peer-to-peer interaction.
