I-Car GMA MIG Welding Certification

This certification allows students with an I-Car ID to do structural MIG welding applications in a collision repair setting. The outcome of the certification includes the ability to weld quarter panels, rocker panels, roof skins, and cab corners. This will make the technicians more employable and put them further ahead in a shop setting.

Earning Criteria

35-40 hour training of both vertical and overhead welding

Utilizing a MIG welder with both 22 gauge and 16 gauge sheet metal performing butt welds, lap welds and plug welds.

Ten welds in total, must pass all ten welds. All welds are measured, marked and tested by breaking the weld.
