In this course participants should be able to understand, identify and analyze the historical and current social construction of race, class, and gender and the ways that race, class, and gender intersect; describe and analyze the systemic structures that have created inequity based on race, class, and gender; identify and reflect on their own positionalities within systems of power; and apply these concepts and theories towards the curricular development of a DEISJ course.
