Earning Criteria

• This individual has successfully completed an industry-accredited degree which proved the following knowledge and skills:
• A fundamental understanding of business strategy and processes, the role and management of information systems in business, information security and risk management.
• Implementation of data management solutions, writing programs that use data structures, and confidently designing and applying algorithms for manipulating data in programming solutions for a variety of computational problems.
• Understanding of how software design builds on software architecture considerations, including key principles such as reuse, separation of concerns and reduced cost.
• Software testing, describing in detail the purpose of, and distinguishing between the different types of testing (unit, integration, systems and acceptance). This includes the role and value of test-driven development techniques, and determining appropriate testing strategies such as test automation.
• Understanding of the technical foundations of systems analysis and design, software development, data management, service delivery, operations management and systems integration.
• Defining configuration management processes for use throughout the product development life cycle in storing software deliverables. Controlling and tracking changes to software both at component and release level, selecting and using appropriate configuration management tools, and applying change management processes.
• Deploying software, including staged deployment in to maturing prototypes and systems, depending on the organisational context into which products are deployed and the human and business issues associated with deployment.
• Designing robust, scalable and future-proof software security solutions that meet specific and generic requirements, internal/external security standards and best practice.
• The ability to apply modern project management methodologies to plan, deliver, manage risk and report on a technology-enabled project to achieve organisational goals.
• Professional skills including written and verbal communications, teamwork, evidence-based problem solving and effective work behaviours.
