Embroidery - Digitizing, Design and Machine Operation

Embroidery is an introduction to image digitizing and machine operation. Participants will be able to do the following by end of session: upload and export to SVC format for embroidery, understand the procedures for digitizing an image, understand the procedures for operating a 6-needle commercial embroidery machine including: threading, needle changes, hooping project, preparing material, troubleshooting errors, identifying best outcomes.

Earning Criteria

To earn a D.E.C. Makerspace badge, participants/users will need to: - attend a mandatory 30-45 minute instructional session on file digitizing and embroidery techniques, complete at least one project involving file digitizing (e.g., converting an image to a usable format), complete at least one project involving embroidery activities (e.g., stitching a design on fabric), and submit your completed project(s) or a clear picture of your final product(s) for verification.
