This co-curricular micro-credential is open to all TWU students and is designed to prepare them with the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing, global workplace. It's self-paced, with no prerequisites, and takes approximately 20 hours to complete. Obtaining this micro-credential demonstrates to prospective employers that the students are trained with the 8 NACE competencies and ready to make immediate contributions to the workplace and succeed in their careers.

As part of the micro-credential co-curricular learning experience, students will learn and apply the 8 NACE competencies: Career and Self-development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Professionalism, Equity and Inclusion, Teamwork, and Technology. Activities will include completing LinkedIn Learning courses (2 minimum), participating in Career Connections-sponsored events and workshops (1 minimum), and completing a resume review and mock interview with a TWU Career Consultant.

Earners of this micro-credential will have demonstrated career readiness by creating a resume, developing an elevator pitch, participating in a mock interview, applying best practices in creating their LinkedIn profile, and finding internships. In addition, they will demonstrate an improvement of at least 10% in their self-confidence in navigating the job market, as measured by pre-and post-assessment scores. For the micro-credential to be awarded and the badge issued, students must show proof of completion to the TWU Career Consultant. These include validation of the LinkedIn Learning Certificate(s). The Career Consultant will verify Career Connections sponsored workshop/event attendance, resume and mock interview, and completion of reflective survey.
