This 10-hour optional curricular micro-credential is designed to enhance the student's social consciousness and emotional intelligence to better understand living and working in an increasingly diverse society. It cultivates a basic understanding of inclusive excellence and belongingness concepts and competencies needed to establish, maintain, and operate in a diverse inclusive workplace. It's only available for TWU's BGS/BAASPS majors enrolled in MDS 4003 Multidisciplinary Studies Capstone.

Earning Criteria

This 10-hour optional curricular micro-credential is only available for TWU's BGS/BAASPS majors enrolled in the MDS 4003 Multidisciplinary Studies Capstone course. It's comprised of five online modules via Canvas. Participation in this micro-credential does not affect grades in the course.

As part of the 10-hour optional curricular educational experience, the students learn about and discuss a variety of topics related to inclusive excellence and belongingness, including: DEI standard terms and legislation; exploring anti-racist tools for the workplace; understanding of -isms and -phobias; culturally competent communication and customer service; and creating an inclusive workplace. To satisfy the requirements for this 10-hour optional curricular micro-credential, students must complete the five required modules, earning a 70% on the assignments, and achieve an online exam score of over 80%.
