The PULSE Scholars Program is designed to support doctoral students in education-related fields in their development of leadership, scholarship, and advocacy skills. To earn this co-curricular micro-credential, students must comply with all program requirements, including bi-annual leadership bootcamps, conferences, and Washington Week advocacy events.

Earning Criteria

PULSE Scholars will have attended 75% of all sessions and demonstrated active engagement in discussions and activities aimed at the development of leadership and advocacy skills.

PULSE Scholars will actively lead peer discussion sessions over research, policy, or a directed reading.

PULSE Scholars will prepare an abstract for a conference presentation or manuscript for submission to a journal or book chapter in order to disseminate their research.

PULSE Scholars will actively participate and reflect after attendance at AACTE Washington Week and Day on the Hill one time during the program.

PULSE Scholars will actively participate annually and reflect after attendance at the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) conference.
