Power UP Scholarship

Earners have been recognised by representatives from leading employers in the Australian power sector as having great potential to contribute to the technical power sector workforce in the future. Earners are invited into the API's Scholarship student community of 100+ undergraduate students across Australia and given support, resources and opportunities to develop their knowledge, experience and passion during their undergraduate programs.

Earning Criteria

Awardees submit an online application (written and video message) detailing their interest in working in the Australian power sector and how joining the API Power UP Scholarship community would assist them in developing a rewarding career in power. Must be completing an undergraduate university course in a STEM program aligned with the needs of the power sector (1st, 2nd or 3rd year of study). Applications are reviewed by a panel of representatives from the API's member organisations.
Earners are invited into the API's Scholarship student community of 100+ undergraduate students across Australia and support, resources and opportunities to develop their knowledge, experience and passion for rewarding careers in the power sector. Earners are supported with a $1000/year cash scholarship and opportunities to connect with industry professionals and other students, to attend industry conferences and events, and to complete at least one paid summer work placement in industry.
Awardees commit to particpating in the API's program for Scholarship students including live and online Industry Insight webinars with API member organisation representatives; the API Power UP Video Challenge featuring videos by students completing paid summer work placements with API members; at least 1x paid work placement with an API member organisation; and school outreach activities to inspire the next generation.
