The Conference Management and Event Planning certificate program is awarded to badge owners who demonstrated a general competency in meeting and event coordination and management. Badge owners will learn about both the event and meeting sides of the industry through lectures and discussions taught by industry and academic professionals. Badge owners also participated in site visits. All instructors have master's degrees, CMP, CSEP, CPCE or similar designations.

COMPETENCIES: Badge owner demonstrates fundamental competence in the following skill areas: event principles and best industry practices; strategic planning and risk management; program design and decorative elements; site selection and vendor selection; event management and coordination; marketing/promotion and social media; contracts and budgets; speakers and VIPs; food and beverage; audio/visual and technology; and convention operations and meeting production.

COURSEWORK: Badge owner are taught how to design, plan, and execute every kind of event, from small meetings to large conferences. They have developed the practical skills and abilities they need to enter the industry by planning and executing a conference project.
