Earning Criteria

• Candidates complete a computer-based live virtual oral assessment that require candidates to demonstrate knowledge leadership practices for their content area in leadership. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate content, which is necessary for leading across the full range of their community of practice.
• Candidates complete a portfolio entry that requires the candidate to gather and analyze information about their individual strengths and weaknesses in leadership and use that information to design instruction that would help someone to overcome those same challenges and capitalize on their strengths.
• Candidates complete a portfolio entry that requires a video recording of interactions between the leader and junior leaders. Candidates also submit written commentary in which they describe, analyze and reflect on their leadership interactions with their peers and junior leaders.
• The final portfolio entry requires candidates to demonstrate evidence of their abilities as an effective and reflective practitioner in developing others, their use of assessments and effectively planning for and positively impacting their organization, peers, and junior leaders to grow.
• Candidates must possess training and education appropriate for their current grade and/or position.
• Candidates are required to have held a leadership position within their organization or others for no less than 3-years by the conferring of their certification.
