The Direct Service Worker respects cultural differences, and provides services and supports that fit with a person supported’s preferences. The earner identifies personal biases and seeks to improve cultural awareness and sensitivity; supports cultural differences, needs, and preferences; identifies community events and activities unique to the person's culture; and supports the person to communicate cultural preferences with the team to incorporate into their goals.
