The Direct Service Worker uses person-centered practices to assist the person supported in making choices and planning goals. The earner provides services to help the person achieve their goals; collaborates with the person using methods tailored to their abilities; supports the person to advocate for significant changes across settings; actively participates with the person’s informal and formal community partners; and empowers the person to make decisions regarding his or her day-to-day life.
