Nurse leaders (i.e., BSN or MSN) require knowledge and skills in managing and leading in healthcare or academic environments. The Nursing Leadership (NL) Proficiency Badge demonstrates expertise in quality improvement and financial management of healthcare-related outcomes. The NL Badge is earned after successfully completing two graduate-level nursing leadership courses from a prescribed list of courses.
Earning Criteria

• Completed two nursing leadership courses (total of 7 credit hours) with a B or better in each of the following courses: 1) NUR 817-Quality and Leadership in Healthcare Systems (4 credit hours), and 2) NUR 819-Economic and Finance in Healthcare Systems (3 credit hours).

Developed advanced skills in leadership, management skills, and application of strategies for managing healthcare delivery in organizations.

Developed advanced ability to recognize changes in organizations that impact performance and outcomes.

Mastered skills for planning fiscal management in organizations.
