Earners of the Trades Academy Ngā Rangatira mō apōpō (Services Preparation Year 2) NCEA Level 3 badge have completed a Services Preparation course through EIT (Eastern Institute of Technology) Hawkes Bay or Tairāwhiti School’s Trades Academy. Learners can demonstrate knowledge of recreation and can assess in the pre-activity planning and running of outdoor activities.

Earning Criteria

In this government funded Trades Academy Secondary School course, the learners have built the knowledge, skills and confidence to enable them to apply for the Armed Forces or Police, or correction services. Students attend classes once a week for 28 weeks.

Learners have been assessed and can demonstrate knowledge of recreation and recreational needs of those participating in an outdoor activities, they understand and can assess in the pre-activity planning and running of outdoor activities, and contribute to a review of the activity.
