On-the-Job Training: Checked Baggage
The course is designed to provide TSOs with the additional skills and knowledge required to perform as a dual function officer, performing not only checkpoint screening procedures, but also checked baggage screening procedures (does not include CB Explosive Detection System (EDS) or On Screen Alarm Resolution Protocol (OSARP). Topics include TSO safety and awareness; screening procedures; prohibited and permitted items; physical search; and explosive trace detection.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include an examination and practical skills demonstrations (PSD) with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, laboratory, discussion, computer-based training, practical exercises, lecture, and classroom exercise.
