Earning Criteria
-
Train the Trainer: Participants must complete this course, which is a live session that discusses best practices for facilitation. Participants learn the difference between Presenting, Facilitating, and Coaching, and must create an analogy of how these roles all work in tandem when delivering content to an audience. They also identify 3 Adult Learning Principles in action and create an individual Facilitator Plan at the end of the session to outline how they will "Shape the Spaces" they lead.
-
Observation: Participants must take what they discussed and practiced in 'Train the Trainer' and apply it to an observation of a live training session led by a peer in Student Engagement. They complete an independent guide that requires them to document evidence of the training tactics and principles discussed in the previous course. They finish this course by writing a recap and reflection on what they observed and sharing it with others in Facilitator Academy.
-
Presentation & Sign-Off: Participants conclude the Academy by facilitating a one-hour(+) live session to an audience of peers on their own or with a co-facilitator; receiving feedback and coaching with a Training Team member after delivering the live session.
