The MDC is a 3-month program for people managers, facilitated by 2U’s Learning & Development team. The purpose of this program is to provide guided development opportunities for individuals who are early in their careers as people leaders, with the specific focus of managing. The program consists of three synchronous workshops, social learning opportunities, and guided coaching interactions with the participants' manager.

Role of a Leader: Becoming a leader is a big transition. Even those who have been in management for a while may not fully understand the key areas where managers should spend their time. This course will help new and existing leaders ensure they have fully embraced their role and give them a roadmap to successful leadership competencies.
Prioritization & Delegation - Tools to Get Your Time Back: To prioritize as a manager, you need to be able to set expectations with your direct reports and delegate. In this course, we focus on how to allocate your time and energy as a manager so that your direct reports are empowered to do their work, and you have time to focus on manager activities.
Difficult Discussions - Tools for Tough Talks: Leadership is all about relationships. Sometimes key relationships get ‘stuck’ when emotions and stakes get high. This course will give you a reliable method for having difficult conversations with direct reports and peers. Whether you are negotiating with another department leader or holding a challenging employee accountable, being able to manage difficult conversations is a top leadership skill.
