Earning Criteria

  • Complete the UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education Data Analytics Boot Camp and meet attendance requirements for the course (95%).
  • Complete the portfolio project for this course with a passing grade from the instructor. The portfolio project is an applied data analysis project with a digitally publishable data visualization.
  • Passing the portfolio project includes the following criteria: Applied Machine Learning in the context of technologies learned. Uses sci-kit learn and/or another statistics/analytics library. Utilizes both analysis and visualization. Polished visualization. Meets good quality coding standards.
  • Portfolio project used at least two of the following technologies: Python Pandas, Python Matplotlib, Python Flask, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, JavaScript Plotly, Javascript D3.js, JavaScript Leaflet, MySQL Database, MongoDB Database, Google Cloud SQL, Amazon AWS, Tableau.
  • Planning for the project includes the following criteria: Overview and value proposition. Detailed walkthrough of machine learning application. Jira, Trello, or Project Management Board with tasks, milestones, and ownership.
