This Lean healthcare training is designed to support growth as a change leader. It prepared students to proactively resolve the operational challenges that he/she and their team encounter daily. The training experience required diligence, perseverance, creativity, collaboration, and effective time management. Students gained advanced knowledge, skills and confidence required to be an active improvement practitioner at UC San Diego Health.

Earning Criteria

Earner passed comprehensive midterm and final knowledge check with 80% or better.
As part of the Transformational Healthcare Black Belt Lean training, students must identify a process for their improvement project. The purpose of this project is to apply the knowledge and tools learned in class to a real-time, real-world problem. Projects must show an impact of $100,000 or more in value.
The purpose of the final presentation is to demonstrate student retention of concepts taught in class and the ability to think critically by applying the knowledge and skills gained from the training program.
