Engineering Design Simulation Basics
Issued by
University of California, Irvine
Earners have a fundamental understanding of engineering design simulation tools and can use finite element analysis software. They demonstrated proficient skills in creating computer models using CAD software suitable for analysis and choosing appropriate element types (beam, plate, solid) for a variety of physical designs. They can select the relevant analysis type(s) to perform, resolve run-time issues, select the appropriate failure criteria, and interpret and report results of the analysis.
