Earners of this badge attended a webinar that provided a brief overview of definitions and standards used to classify biobased/bio-derived, biodegradable & compostable plastics. Participants were shown a range of bioderived polymers & part-biobased polymers derived from naturally occurring precursors. The possibilities of using waste byproducts as feedstock for the production of biopolymers was discussed. Offered by UMass Lowell in technical partnership with Plastindia International University.
