Gynecological Teaching Associate Instructor
This credential is evidence of the associate meeting standards in teaching learners the correct sequence, history taking, language use, and physical components of a pelvic/breast exam. Objectives include describing to the learner: the external genitalia and breast anatomy of the female; the process for external pelvic examination of the female; the process for examining the cervix, performing pap tests, cultures, and wet mounts; a bimanual exam palpating the uterus and adnexa.

Earning Criteria

Complete formal training process, including conducting 5 independent sessions.

Expert evaluation uses a standardized checklist. Each competency evaluated requires a score of 4 or 5 out of 5.
