Structural Competency in Graduate Medical Education
This credential provides an introductory framework for new house officers and fellows on structural and social factors impacting health and how to incorporate them into shared decision- making; effective communication with patients and families from different backgrounds; and successful engagement with community organizations. This is a product of a partnership between UMMC and Vanderbilt University Medical Center and funded y the AMA Reimagining Residency Initiative.

Earning Criteria

Earners must complete the GME S.C.O.R.E.- Structural Competence in Orientation and Residency Experiences course. This content is available in our learning management system. Assessments include interactive learning presentations, five quizzes, pre- and post- surveys, and an attestation of completion.
