Earning Criteria

Participate in the TLC Program seminar series.

Write a 800-1200 word blog essay regarding a technique/strategy/innovation that informs teaching and learning.

Write a teaching philosophy statement.

Create at least one comprehensive lesson plan for a learning activity (e.g. skills lab, APPE student discussion, online CE program) or create at least one syllabus. The lesson plan or syllabus must include learning objectives and an assessment.

Assist with the implementation of at least one skills-based learning activity (e.g. skills lab, IPE exercise) and write a reflective essay about the experience.

Author at least one case. This may be either one mini-case OR updating one progressive disclosure case for PBL Group or an Integrated Systems course. In addition to developing the case materials, draft the learning objectives and assessments associated with the case.

Facilitate (independently) at least six group sessions. For PBL Group on the Jackson campus, this will require attending an orientation meeting and co-facilitating sessions prior to independently facilitating PBL Group. Write a reflective essay about the experience.

Design, develop, and deliver at least two (2) presentations of at least 30-minutes in duration that include active learning elements. These presentations may be given to any audience (e.g. health professional students, health professionals, pharmacy technicians, or patients), but at least one presentation must be approved for continuing education credit. Write a reflective essay about the experience.

Develop and grade at least one instructional activity.

Develop at least ten (10) exam questions (e.g. Problem-Solving Exam, Knowledge and Comprehension Exam, or course-specific exam).

Co-precept at least one pharmacy student on either an IPPE or APPE. Draft the student's midpoint and end-of-experience evaluations. Write a reflective essay about the experience.

Create and maintain a teaching portfolio.
