The ASB IPE Series at UMMC is a program of presentations/panels focused on instilling the value of team-based patient care, which requires true collaboration and interprofessionalism among all health care professions, even those not directly involved in patient care, represented on the UMMC campus. Each session focuses on addressing Interprofessional Education Competencies.

Earners must attend the panel discussion titled: Interprofessional Perspective and Review of the COVID-19 Vaccines Development and Rollout. Core IPE competency addressed is Roles and Responsibilities for Collaborative Practice. Learning objectives include: Identify roles of various healthcare and health-related professions in developing and administrating COVID-19 vaccines; Explain each role; and Reflect on the successes and failures of the rollout from the perspectives of each role.

Earners must respond to a reflection assignment regarding the following questions. Healthcare and health-related professions often set health examples intentionally and unintentionally. What are some ways healthcare and health-related professions can set a positive example with respect to COVID-19 vaccines? Do healthcare and health-related professionals have an obligation to be vocal proponents in media? How can health care professionals assist in improving the rollout and address challenges?
