An earner of the Aquatic Food Production Badge is able to design and maintain both an aquaponics system and a recirculating aquaculture system and is capable of scaling each to meet capacity needs. This earner is able to apply aquaponics and recirculating aquaculture knowledge and critique to real world situations.

Earning Criteria

Complete workshops Aquaponics MAR 367 and Recirculating Aquaculture Systems MAR 370
Attend one of the two events: New England Farm to Institution Summit or Northeast Aquaculture Conference & Exposition
As an alternative to attending events, complete an internship at Bangs island Mussels, Ocean Approved Seaweed farm or Muscongus Bay Oyster Farm, or at another site determined in consultation with the badge issuer
