Earning Criteria

Test your knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion - Take our DEI Vocabulary Quiz to see if you know important terms like BIPOC, gender nonconforming and cultural appropriation. Be sure to screenshot your results at the end of the quiz, as you will need to provide it as proof that you completed this step to earn your Equity Advocate badge.
Learn the important difference between equity and equality - “Equity” and “equality” are not synonymous. Find out the difference between equity and equality and why United Way NCA is championing equity in the region by reading our article on the topic.
Advocate for United Way of the National Capital Area - Share social media content with your followers on why you support United Way NCA's equity work and what it means to you. Make sure to tag us in your posts at @unitedwaynca on Facebook and Instagram, and at @uwnca on Twitter.
After you complete steps one through three, you will need to submit an application to United Way NCA through Survey Monkey proving completion of the three required steps. This will include sharing a link to your social media post, uploading a screenshot of your completed DEI quiz and answering a question about equity vs. equality.
