Senior Academic Success Advisor

The Senior Academic Success Advisor badge is awarded to advisors who have achieved the highest level of professional competency (NACADA). In addition to their primary advisor role, they serve as lead mentors for other advisors, and are actively engaged in activities related to the growth and development of advising through research, the innovative leveraging of technology and best practices, and presentation of same. They are recognized leaders in professional organizations and committees.

Earning Criteria

Minimum 5 years student services experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience in primary advising role.

Must be nominated by their supervisor, having promoted the profession through leadership roles on committees (UCM or SAC), in professional organizations (MACADA, NACADA), through professional conference presentation, and/or through NACADA publishing.

Serve as a lead Academic Success Advisor, providing mentorship to other Success Advisors, and taking advantage of opportunities to serve in additional roles that demand greater management and/or administrative responsibility as needed.
