Earning Criteria
-
Earners participate in 3 learning activities that promote skills and attitudes helpful for engaging in constructive dialog. Learning activities are available as in-person workshops, free online learning modules, and independent activities. Through these learning activities, earners develop skills for active listening, develop strategies and skills for dealing with (political) difference in constructive ways, and foster an attitude that values difference and diversity of thought.
-
After completing 2 or more education experiences, earners take part in a participation activity. Earners can choose among several activities. Through active participation, individuals will refine the skills introduced in the learning activities and demonstrate the ability to contribute to constructive conversations between individuals who disagree on policies, candidates or issues.
-
Earners complete a reflection paper addressing the learning experiences and participation activities listing the 3 most impactful concepts learned or experienced. Earners describe what did not work well or what was missing from the experience. Earners relate the participation activity to something that was learned in the learning experiences. Earners discuss how attitudes and conversations have changed as a result of the program.
