Earners of the Entrepreneurial Startup Skills micro-credential through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative at CU Boulder show the practical use of entrepreneurial thinking and implement entrepreneurial skills and practices to create a solution to a problem. By identifying a real-world problem and designing an innovative solution, learners demonstrate Leadership, Teamwork, Creativity, Time Management, Problem Identification and Solving, Communication, and Critical Thinking skills.

Earning Criteria

Attend and reflect on 4 "Entrepreneurship" workshops approved for thee micro-credential.

Work with a mentor and secure a mentor recommendation.

Present a live, five-minute pitch at the first round of the New Venture Challenge and score at least a 60% from the judges in the following areas: 1) Problem identification, 2) Viable solution to the problem, 3) Identification of venture timelines and milestones, 4) Customer discovery and market validation, 5) Venture leadership assessment, and 6) Identification and long-term plan of execution.
