Teaching International Students (TIS) prepares faculty, graduate students, and teaching staff to offer international students an equitable academic experience. Grounded in concepts of inclusive pedagogy, universal design for learning, and intercultural competence, participants gain understanding of international students' unique experiences and needs. Workshops and a capstone project apply learning to instructional design, teaching/mentoring practices, and fostering success beyond the classroom.

Capstone project: International Student Support Action Plan: Based on the readings, discussions, and workshops, participants will design an action plan that addresses the needs of international students at their classes, department, college, or at CU in general. [**we can add a link to the Capstone rubric**]

1) Analyze the experiences of international students at CU Boulder, including how current events are affecting them; 2) Critique common practices when teaching and/or mentoring international students at CU Boulder; 3) Design strategies to improve international students' academic experience at CU Boulder. These three criteria will be demonstrated and assessed through course reflections and discussions, workshop reflections, and four Pedagogical Practice Application Reports, and Capstone Project.
