This self-paced, online course offers an introduction to the principles of UDL—a framework that can help participants build flexibility into any learning experience to optimize the success of diverse learners and create inclusive, barrier-free experiences for the campus community. Its intent is to serve as a catalyst for cultivating a community of inquiry focused on supporting one another's efforts beyond course completion. Earning Criteria

Examine in-person or remote learning experiences and interactions (e.g., educational materials, learning events or activities, service area websites) from a UDL perspective and identify best practices and areas for improvement.

Apply UDL guiding principles to learning experiences and interactions and make recommendations to better meet the needs of diverse learners.

Create a personal UDL action plan with immediate, short-term, and long-term objectives and strategies to continue developing proficiency and experience in UDL beyond course completion.
Standards
The UDL Guidelines are a tool used in the implementation of Universal Design for Learning, a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn.
