The Ethics First badge is first in a series of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs College of Business Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative (DFEI) Collegiate Program Voicing Ethical Values Micro-credentialing Program. It reflects application of the DFEI decision-making process to an ethical focus area (behavior, fraud, technology, health and wellness, an organization, or sports). Earners have demonstrated competency in applying ethical principles to relevant personal/organizational practices.

Recorded attendance of Ethics First, Ethics Roundtable, or other UCCS DFEI-related events, self-enrollment in the UCCS COB DFEI Ethics First Badge Series Canvas space. Successful completion and submission of an event-specific application activity or deliverable meeting 90% of the criteria.
