The Lincoln Award is the University of Lincoln's employability framework, designed to support, enhance, and recognise extracurricular activity. As well as taking part in a variety of activities to develop skills, students are supported to reflect on their experiences and prepare to put their learning to the test in one of our employer-partnered Assessment Centres. The Lincoln Award Geography is a bespoke pathway which focusses on related industry activities.
Skills
Earning Criteria

Complete a skills assessment based on the graduate labour market and use the results to inform activity choices and produce an action plan.

Complete 40 hours of paid work, volunteering or work experience with relevant employers, volunteer organisations and geographical bodies.

Attend various industry and skills focused workshops, events or training, to develop experiences and competencies.

Participate in various activities to prepare for recruitment. Complete an online CV review, reflect on experiences and skills developed and learn how to communicate skills. Attend an interactive session to prepare for the Assessment Centre Experience.

Pass a Lincoln Award Assessment Centre to complete the award. The Assessment Centre is partnered with a industry related employer and based on a real job role. Students undertake a short interview, a written exercise and a group task and receive a feedback summary sheet after the event detailing their score, strengths and development areas for all activities. Students must meet the pass mark to complete the award.
