The Lincoln Award- STEM Ambassador pathway

The Lincoln Award is the University of Lincoln's employability framework, designed to support students to develop and learn how to demonstrate employability skills. This STEM Ambassador pathway allows students to gain experience as a STEM Ambassador within a local school as well as gaining industry insight from senior STEM Ambassadors. Students are supported to reflect on their experiences and put their skills to the test in an employer-partnered assessment centre.

Earning Criteria

Complete a skills assessment based on the graduate labour market and use the results to inform activity choices and produce an action plan.

Gain 40 hours of experience in a local school, delivering to pupils and preparing resources.

Attend various industry or skills focused workshops, events or training, to develop experiences and competencies. Gaining insight from Senior STEM Ambassadors.

Participate in various activities to prepare for recruitment. Complete an online CV review, reflect on experiences and skills developed and learn how to communicate skills. Attend an interactive session to prepare for the Assessment Centre Experience.

Pass a Lincoln Award Assessment Centre to complete the award. Each Assessment Centre is partnered with an employer and based on a real job role. Students undertake a short interview, a written exercise and a group task and receive a feedback summary sheet after the event detailing their score, strengths and development areas for all activities. Students must meet the pass mark to complete the award.
