Assessment of Clinical Competence

Students will learn preliminary information about clinical competence in the field of counseling. Students will learn the significance of continually assessing their own clinical competence, and ability to practice, including how to communicate to others when they are concerned about their clinical competence. Students will also learn how to sensitively and ethically address concerns when the competence of others around them is in question.

The badge earner watched a clinical competence video and PowerPoint lecture created by the Online Counseling Program Director (Cerynn Desjarlais) and a doctoral (Counseling Psych) Graduate Assistant (Emily Heavner).

The badge earner took a clinical competence quiz located on Blackboard and passed with a perfect score. Students can retake the quiz as many times as needed to achieve a perfect score.
