Learners must complete this 45-hour course, and obtain an 80% or higher on the final assessment in order to receive this badge.
Standards
Understand and state what the role of the CDM, CFPP is in healthcare.
Understand and state the Scope of Practice for the CDM, CFPP.
Define and then compare/contrast these terms: ethics, morals, and law.
Compare and contrast the terms privacy and confidentiality.
Describe how the Code of Ethics, professional practice standards, real/potential conflicts of interest, and patient rights intersect and are pivotal to the work of the CDM, CFPP in patient care.
Understand and state how governmental agencies and non-governmental agencies determine and provide regulatory oversite for the foodservice operation.
List the main governmental agencies and non-governmental agencies that provide regulatory oversight (WHO, HHS, OSHA, CDC, FDA {including the Food Code} and CMS) in nutrition services as it pertains to food safety and sanitation.
Understand and state each of the agencies listed above and how they influence the healthcare system in the United States.
Understand the resources that each of the agencies has for healthcare workers and how it impacts food and nutrition services.
State who/what is under the 'umbrella of protection' in within each of the agencies listed above as it pertains to food service safety and sanitation.
Gain an in-depth understanding of the Federal Agencies and Regulations that govern food safety and sanitation including the FDA, HHS, CMS, TJC, OSHA, CDC, and WHO.
