Basic Mediation Training

Issued by University of Utah

Earners of this badge have completed at least 40 hours of Utah court-qualified mediation training. Those who complete this training have successfully fulfilled the educational portion of the requirements to be listed as a mediator on the Utah Court Basic Roster of Mediators. Students in this course have completed all assignments, readings, lectures, and activities associated with the core set of mediation skills in order to help others find successful resolutions of their disputes.

Earning Criteria

Complete all assigned video lectures, quizzes, and assignments. Attend and actively participate in all live sessions. Achieve an 80% or better on all graded work, including quizzes and an ethics exam. Complete a capstone project that requires mediating a dispute, evaluating the recording, and meeting with the instructor.
