The first principles of learning design in a hybrid classroom. In this online workshop we will explore the first principles of learning design in a hybrid classroom. For example how can we design hybrid learning that promotes curiosity, empowers agency, improves retention, develops skills. From direct instruction to beautifully designed learner driven projects, we will look at using Google Classroom to develop a learning commons, Google slides to make deep thinking visible.
-
Deep diving into instructional design. In this workshop we explore how we can leverage Google Workspace tools to underpin the design of direct instruction. We will use a learning design framework that includes deep reflection and metacognition to empower learner agency. We will also explore the capacity of Google Workspace Plus and managed Chromebooks to analyse technology-use data to better understand how effectively the learners are engaging in hybrid learning.
-
Putting the learner at the heart of inquiry. In this workshop, we will examine how we might use the whole Google eco-system to spark inquiry and build personalised pathways for learner inquiry. We will use technology to empower learner agency, connect with the wider world and create beautiful proxies for learning that are fit to share to authentic audiences. We will also examine measuring growth in capabilities such as collaboration, critical thinking and communication using Google Classroom.
