Express MongoDB Back-end Development - Monroe
Issued by
Upright Education
Students who earn this credential have constructed back-end applications using Express, MongoDB, and Mongoose. They have created server-side solutions to challenges which include building JSON API servers which follow the REST architecture pattern, while retrieving and persisting data from the MongoDB database. The solutions model their data using document based relationships, and map these relationships to JavaScript objects using the Mongoose library.

Earning Criteria
-
Completed 50 hours of classroom instruction covering the creation of back-end APIs using the Express JavaScript library to construct web servers and deliver JSON to client-side applications. The student has demonstrated the ability model object relationships as documents within the MongoDB database and to interface with MongoDB using the Mongoose library to construct schemas.
-
Constructed back-end web applications that required competence in building the server-side of the web development stack, including serving data to client-side React applications, generating API routes with Express, and database persistence using MongoDB and Mongoose. The application logic was complex, and required the student to demonstrate their ability to build modular solutions at various levels of abstraction.
