The Gold Badge is displayed in online course sections that have met high-quality design standards based on the USF Innovative Education Digital Learning’s High-Quality Review process. A USF High-Quality Gold designation means an online course has met rigorous, research-based standards of course design and promotes additional opportunities for student engagement, real-world application, and diversity through content.

Earning Criteria

Earners of this badge must complete a rigorous course review of 42 USF Green standards and 6 additional USF Gold standards required for the Gold Badge. These standards are intended to assess the quality and design elements of an effective online course.

Earners of this Badge must complete a rigorous course review of 51 standards intended to assess the quality and design elements of an effective online course, including 7 additional standards required for the USF Gold Badge. The quality review score for Gold must be 89 points or higher out of 104 points on the USF Quality Online Rubric and at least 8 points out of 14points on the USF Gold Standards.
